SOLOS PRESENTATIONS & WORKSHOPS

I: YOUTH PRESENTATIONS:


Your Life Online : Young people are constructing permanent pubic digital reputations, some while in elementary school. This presentation will consider privac,y permanent vs. public reputation, social media sites, predators, sexting and tips for staying safer.                                                                   Grades 4-5, 6-7 & 8-10

Being Kind Online : New social  and online cultural skills are required of our children. This highly engaging presentation offers discussions of online conduct. Topics covered include - online harassment - online codes of conduct - online ethics - legal parameters of online harassment and tips for staying safer.                      Grades 4-5, 6-7 & 8-10

Playing Responsibly Online : As contributors to online games, communities,, video databases and social media youth benefit from adult imput about thinking critically about their contributions to the internet.                            Grades 8-10 & 11-12

II: PARENTS/ PAC/ PUBLIC PRESENTATION:

Parenting in a Cyber-Age : SOLOS Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) presentations offer internet 101, information about online harassment, exposure to online pornography and social media basics. SOLOS PAC presentations offer information about basics and also examples of positive technology use and tips for parenting wired kids.

III: PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS

Cyberspace: Youth Work Frontier: This workshop will better equip youth-focussed professionals dealing with the complications of online technologies and social media are bringing to their caseloads and clients.

Pro-D Day Crash Course in Online Youth Culture:This workshop familiarizes education professionals with online youth culture and the specifics of online settings most used by youth.
